Manager, Food Safety

•  Leads the development of internal auditing learning plans and serves as the internal and external subject matter expert in developing and maintaining Food Safety Standards as it pertains to facility processes.
• Conduct food safety/GMP internal audits of Alpha Baking Company, Chicago facilities X 3, document findings, maintain timelines, and schedules for corrective actions.
• Assigns open tasks to correct department to address.
•  Schedule necessary cross functional departmental meetings to review recommendation, findings, and progress.
• Lead in partnership with other Quality Managers the development and implementation of Food Safety Plans, HACCP, pre-requisite programs, and all food safety-related programs to meet regulatory and/or customer requirements
•  Oversee the sanitation departments to ensure master sanitation schedule, daily cleaning schedule, and chemical control programs are being followed.
•  Perform food safety and quality assessments for review of manufacturing standards, HACCP/FSMA Food Safety Plans, Food Quality Plans, and sanitation programs
•  Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures, customer requirements, HACCP, FSMA/Preventive Controls, and GFSI standards
• Develop policies and monitor procedures for validation food safety controls
•  Interact with and provide support for Alpha Baking Company quality and food safety team, Director of Food Safety and Reginal Director of Quality
•  This role helps to identify trends in inadequate food safety compliance within the sanitation, maintenance, and quality departments.
•  Work different shifts when and if necessary.
•  Other duties will be identified as the needed that pertain to the outline of this position.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct all business dealings in a professional and courteous manner.
•  Position requires to be on site/work at least one Saturday or Sunday every week.
•  Propose repair/cleaning strategies for facility.
•  Support and implement new project ideas and designs.
•  Maintains professional knowledge by attending company paid workshops.
•  Other duties and projects as assigned.
